Andrea became interested in HR during her time at UNC Chapel Hill and studied management and Spanish—then searched for ways to grow her talent with mentorship and experience. The rotational and leadership development programs offered by GSK were exactly what she was looking for after graduation. She interviewed on her birthday, and her acceptance was the best gift she could ask for.
Within the Future Leaders Program, Andrea has worked with performance and compensation processes, developed employee networking initiatives, and assisted in talent reviews and forums. While learning the ins and outs of the company during versatile partnership projects with cross-teams, Andrea gathers data analytics to improve operational processes—and support leaders across the business.
“If you want to work here, you should really understand and be able to step back and look at the big picture of this company.”
“No one is perfect on the first try—there will be mistakes. The most important thing to do is be humble enough to admit you’ve made a mistake. What matters in the end is how you pick yourself back up, learn from your experiences, and move forward.”
