Although Phil has been working in the realm of engineering since the 1990’s, he never had formal training in the field—instead, he took classes to teach himself. In his consulting career prior to joining FutureAdvisor, Phil focused on how businesses utilized technology—a concentration that now serves him in his current line of work at the company.
Unlike typical Engineering Manager positions, Phil’s responsibilities require programming knowledge. While he’s accountable for the overall technical direction, his coding skills are key for diagnosing issues and ensuring reasonable estimates. Combined, he manages his team and ensures they meet deadlines.
