All FBI agents undergo intense physical training throughout their careers—meaning they’re at the FBI Academy every day for 20 weeks, and in the gym at least three times a week, performing multiple rounds of weightlifting, sprinting, and weapons training sessions. Experts also expose trainees’ athletic weaknesses and provide personalized recommendations to turn them into strengths.
All new FBI employees begin their careers at the Academy. New employees receive four days of in-residence administrative training as a group. Professional employees then report to their assigned field office, while New Agents and New Intelligence Analysts remain behind for more in-depth training. New Agents stay at the Academy for 20 weeks, while New Intelligence Analysts are there for 12 weeks.
