Brenda earned a BS in biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. Her first job out of college was in the Operations Department in a biotech company, where she was able to gain first-hand experience of how products are made. Brenda was initially drawn to Exact Sciences after learning about the company’s ability to effect positive change in people’s lives.
Brenda’s primary duty as a Research Scientist is handling the company’s pipeline projects. That means she’s in charge of taking a product from development to commercialization. To do this, Brenda sets up experiments, gathers and analyzes the data, and then makes research-based decisions on whether a product is ready to move forward for commercialization.
“I recently worked on a project that focused on reducing the cost of our Cologuard product. Our team was extremely focused on bringing all the details together with precision, and it was very satisfying being able to develop a high-quality product.”
“My advice for someone looking to apply to Exact Sciences, especially in the research and development area, is to know that we’re really focused on innovation, producing high-quality data, and bringing the best products to the market.”
