From Academia to Product Design
While studying abroad, Rachel conducted ethnographic research. Despite her interest in cultural anthropology, she didn’t want a career in academia—instead, Rachel turned to the tech sector. From there, she found out how product design could take what she loved about ethnography into making physical things and having an immediate impact on the world around her.

Rachel is a member of Etsy’s Internal Platforms Team. She designs and builds products that Etsy employees use within the company. Rachel helps her co-workers improve their workflow, and she finds satisfaction in helping others solve problems. All of Rachel’s work is a result of thoughtful decision-making processes, something she finds necessary in a workplace.
