Jonathan attended the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and graduated with a degree in fine arts and interior design. One day, he came across an online posting for Equinox. With the help of a family friend who works as an Equinox Personal Trainer, Jonathan submitted his resume and interviewed. He’s now been with the company for five years.
Jonathan often works with members across disciplines for projects lasting two to four years. His day usually involves meetings with architects and designers to discuss design elements for new Equinox locations. When creating new spaces, Jonathan utilizes the company’s extensive material library to craft environments that maintain Equinox’s signature feel.
“What gets me excited to come into work is being able to design new clubs, renovations, and expansions. It’s wonderful to have a raw, fresh space in a brand new neighborhood and be the person who creates the feel for people to enjoy.”
“I’m most proud of opening the Equinox location in San Francisco’s Union Square. The space was previously an old single-screen theater that dated back to the 1920s. It was so rewarding to finally open the studio while still maintaining the space’s historical murals and art pieces.”
