Due to her fascination with languages and how people learn them, Antonia earned a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in computational linguistics. She spent her time in school dreaming about working for a company that combined language and computer learning, but never had a good example—until she discovered Duolingo. Antonia wrote the company a letter that expressed her love for it, and she was brought on the team.
Working in the full stack, Antonia is responsible for making sure the Tinycards website and app are easy to use and fully functional on the back end. She usually gets into the office between 9 and 10 AM and starts the day by reviewing code that’s been submitted to her. Most of her afternoons are spent in meetings discussing new designs or writing up the specifications for a new feature.
