Zachary studied finance management and computer science at University of Wisconsin - Madison. He previously worked at a startup in Los Angeles, and was drawn to Dia&Co after chatting with Dave Brown, the company’s CTO. Zachary met with co-founders Lydia and Nadia and could tell that it would be a good cultural fit, so he joined in June 2016.
Zachary’s role boils down to three parts—software developer, project planner, and systems architect. He designs, installs, tests, and maintains Dia&Co’s software systems, and identifies priorities to assign project leads. Zachary also understands how the company’s systems operate and finds ways to build new, more complex software for a better, faster, and more efficient system.
“One of my favorite projects I’ve worked on as part of the Engineering Team is batch picking. Before, when someone ordered a box, the warehouse worker would pick one box at a time. We implemented a new system that meant picking 10 boxes at a time. It involved a lot of cool software engineering components and had a clear impact on the business.”
“Much of your career has already prepared you for interviewing with us, so my advice to a candidate coming in to interview is to relax and be yourself.”
