Counsyl employees enjoy socializing with each other whenever and wherever. Group outings to go go-carting, playing ping pong during breaks, and dressing up for Halloween costume competitions is the norm around Counsyl, and everyone participates. Even company-wide meetings are cause for camaraderie—a recent meeting turned into a 70s-theme party afterward, showing that good business can definitely also be good fun.
Shivani spends her day educating patients on their available reproductive choices. With a graduate degree in genetic counseling, Shivani meets with couples after the Counsyl test has been administered and discusses the results, the implications, and viable options for them pre- and post-pregnancy. She helps patients sift through masses of information and choose the best possible outcome for their future families.
“I work from home—which is awesome—so when I need to talk to people at work I Skype, and when I need to have an in-person meeting I travel.”
“I think it is very important for women to know their pre- and post-pregnancy testing options, so they can have the best chance possible of having a healthy family.”
“One of the things I’ve enjoyed tremendously has been promoting awareness in the Jewish community. We offer our test at a fraction of what other labs offer, and it’s been really rewarding to see the impact.”
