Amanda discovered her love for observing and directing motion while in grad school for animation. Upon graduating, she wanted to find work that fit her interests—and it was during an internship at the Discovery Channel that Amanda met someone who recommended Cortina Productions. She was initially hired for a 3-day gig, but she’s been at Cortina ever since.
Amanda spends most of her days working very closely with editors and freelancers, managing every aspect of post-production for Cortina’s films. She leads the team in setting goals and deadlines for the various projects that come their way. Because the timelines for projects vary, Amanda and her team can spend a couple days to a few months editing promising cuts into compelling films.
“The management style of Cortina is very close-knit. We work very closely with our executives, and there’s an open-door policy. They’re phenomenal mentors.”
“What gets me excited about working here is that we’re creating experiences, and I love that concept. It’s not just a projection on the wall. It’s encompassing—it’s people’s emotions, people’s stories.”
