Margarita gained her B.S. from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio while pursuing a pre-med path. She next worked as a researcher and earned her master’s degree from Trinity University. Through her fellowship work serving vulnerable communities in Houston, Margarita was introduced to COPE Health Solutions, and—passionate about the organization’s mission and methods—she eagerly joined the team as a consultant.
The typical day for a consultant at COPE Health Solutions centers around providing support and solutions for clients. What this looks like varies, as client needs are as diverse as the clients themselves. Margarita travels often and recently helped clients in upstate New York develop and implement innovative contracting strategies revolving around Medicaid waivers.
“My main goal as a consultant is to provide the support that the client needs and really help them develop the strategies that transform health care. That’s something that’s driven me and is a passion of mine.”
“Be a critical thinker. We’re so innovative that it’s important to be able to think outside box.”
