Prior to joining the Clara team, Brian contributed his computer and software engineering skills to Morgan Stanley and Twitter. He learned of an opportunity at Clara by way of a former colleague, who convinced Brian to pursue his current position. Brian’s colleague knew that he would fit right in at Clara—a correct assumption.
A typical day for Brian begins with an Engineering Team stand-up. The daily meeting offers visibility of what other team members are working on and serves as an opportunity to discuss any roadblocks. Next, Brian catches up on emails before heading to lunch. He devotes most afternoons to coding, with interviews of new hirees intermixed.
“I like having the freedom to make mistakes. This is our first rodeo, so to speak. We experiment a lot, and we’re given the space to take the systems being built in any direction we see fit.”
“I see a lot of interesting problems coming down the pipe—and I’m excited to take them on. This is an ever-evolving industry, and we need to be nimble and able to react to change in order to be successful.”
