Ever since her days at Arizona State University, when she went on her first ride-along, Dulce knew she was meant for the community-oriented career of a police officer. After completing a degree in criminal justice, Dulce joined the Scottsdale PD, was promoted to detective, and has served the citizens of Scottsdale for the past 12 years.
When evening patrols face auto-crimes, it’s up to Dulce to help, providing thorough investigative leadership to ensure property is returned, criminals are caught, and murky situations meet the light. When she isn’t reviewing cases, contacting victims, and following up on leads, Dulce engages with the community, particularly enjoying informal, friendly, and informational sessions with local children.
“It’s really rewarding when I get to return property back to victims, to see the joy in their faces when they had previously lost all hope.”
“This is a great career for a woman—it’s the same training and treatment. You truly earn your position and the confidence you need to help people. Knowing you’re doing good, and have the power to do so as a woman—it’s really empowering.”
