It’s a very fun and laidback environment in Chartwells’ Florida office, where friendship is encouraged. Employees make it a point to grab morning coffee together and have lunch with as many people in the office as possible. Hour-long breaks in the middle of the day are commonplace, allowing employees to decompress, laugh, relax, and share ideas about ongoing projects.
Chartwells truly believes in celebrating its employees, and it does so through its Be-A-Star program. Employees are invited to a three-day Be-A-Star getaway, where the CEO herself puts on a costume, hosts the festivities, and recognizes all the hard-work put forth with fun and excitement. In fact, some of Chartwells’ employees enjoy their careers so much that they’ve stayed for decades.
“One of the best stories from Be-A-Star was when I used to host the event. I got to dress up in costume and I got to be the MC, along with one of the other CEOs from another part of the organization. It felt homegrown, since we were at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando—and it was fabulous.”
“My favorite time working here was during our homecoming events. It was amazing to see how everyone came together, and in one day, we transformed an entire parking lot into this big festival. Food from all over the world came together so seamlessly and it was really incredible to see and witness.”
