Owen joined a startup in Vancouver after studying communications at Simon Fraser University. Eventually, that tiny lyric hub got acquired by CBS—and Owen was part of the package. Because he loved good tunes and wanted to be closer to the music epicenter, he officially moved from Canada with the goal of making CBS’s music sites a staple in the global music community.
When he isn’t planning thoughtful video pieces and exposés that allow fans to connect with musicians, Owen manages editorial contributors and develops campaigns to disseminate the content created internally. Though he wants to grow the audience, Owen focuses on user experience and engagement—which he negotiates internally and with labels. He also attends special events—like the final episode of David Letterman.
