Eric’s Story
Two Decades In
Eric joined CNET in 1997 as a lab technician after a short stint as video game tester. He studied computer science for a few years while employed at CNET, but after realizing he was a better writer than programmer, he began working as full-time editor in 2007. Luckily, juggling both fields was just what CNET needed when they brought Eric on to manage content.

Eric’s mornings start at the gym, before he heads into the office. Once he’s at his desk, Eric’s mission is to monitor the posting schedule—in addition to editing reviews and long-form stories. He also meets with each member of his team each week to ensure their goals are being met. Eric has frequent meetings with dispersed teams to brainstorm and plan for upcoming content—as well as how best to track its success.
