Kristen majored in math and minored in computer science when she applied for the Capital One Rotation Program through college. The two-year professional development program for new hires allowed Kristen the flexibility to switch roles each year, to work at different locations, and to figure out a concrete career path in tech.
Working diligently to develop and implement Capital One’s new credit card APIs, Kristen and her Engineering Team function in Agile pods, planning ahead each morning with daily stand-up meetings. Kristen is in code-mode for most of the day, but she frequently collaborates with multiple Engineering Teams on back-end systems and new software deployment.
“Capital One is such a very young and collaborative environment that you forget that you’re working for a bank.”
“We are looking for someone who is pushing the edge and seeking new and different opportunities. I love that everyone takes my ideas and listens to them even though I’m young. Everyone is open to change.”
