Emma’s Story
Dabbling In Data
After finishing a master’s degree in civil engineering at MIT, Emma completed an internship scraping data from public websites and analyzing it for practical business use. This experience shifted her career—pointing her toward a future in finance she didn’t anticipate. After taking machine learning courses and teaching herself Python, Emma targeted jobs that used both—and ended up in the perfect place.

What Emma Does
Data Scientist
Though she’s a statistics whiz focused on credit card transaction fraud, Emma’s role encompasses more than crunching numbers and building models. Bi-weekly team meetings give her an opportunity to share her insights across the team and pick up new challenges to explore—but no matter how broad her role is, Emma’s goal is detecting threats immediately and protecting customers.
