After studying fine arts at the Virginia Commonwealth University, Ashleigh started working in illustration, but decided a career in advertising wasn’t for her. Returning to school for her master’s in video game design, Ashleigh found her way to Blizzard when one of its student art contests led to an internship with the Prop Team—and a career.
Ashleigh strives to make sure the in-game world feels alive and lived in, creating everything from furniture and statues to disco balls and coffee shops. Creating props from start to finish—models, concepts, and textures—Ashleigh has the freedom to truly define cultural styles in the game, like using art-nouveau designs for the woodwork with the Druid culture kit.
“As an artist, it’s just really nice to be able to paint all day.”
“My main goal as an artist is to continue to learn and grow, which is really easy at Blizzard—there are so many amazingly talented people everywhere who are always willing to share tips and lessons about their process”
