Leticia studied industrial design and began her career designing furniture. After working at a furniture company for a few years, she became fascinated with the decision-making process behind the objects the company was making and decided to pursue a master’s in industrial design with an emphasis on strategic design. She then interviewed at BCG Digital Ventures and was instantly drawn to the diversity of clients that come to the company—and has worked there for the past three years.
Leticia starts her day at the office at 9:30 AM with an interdisciplinary team meeting to go over the day’s agenda and goals. Every few months, she's working on different ventures—some external, and some internal. On one project, she might be a designer for a transportation or insurance venture with one team. In another, she may be part of an internal project venture with a completely different team—or she might be out in the field researching new design tactics.
“The most challenging part of the job is also what I really like about my job—every new venture has to do with a totally new industry. So you have to learn about a new industry all over again. I’m always learning something new, and I get to bring in what I learn from different industries into my next project.”
“My advice to a newcomer coming into BCG Digital Ventures is to be self-driven. Have a lot of energy behind you and look forward to learn from other people, because everyone here will come with their own point of view.”
