Sharon’s Story
Evolve & Create
Sharon has loved creative endeavors ever since her first art classes in elementary school, and joined Bankrate as a designer 28 years ago, when the company was still using typesetters. The work and methods have changed drastically since then, but the forward-thinking culture and camaraderie of Bankrate have remained—along with many of Sharon’s colleagues.

VP of Design
Sharon and her Design Team are dedicated to creating the best UX for Bankrate’s website and products, creating prototypes and providing support. A typical day for Sharon starts with a stand-up for the Design Team to review the pipeline, discuss priorities, and connect with teams from other departments, such as development and marketing, before assigning projects.

“It’s all about the user. Our goal is to make the site the best UX experience we can, with the most intuitive interface. If the site isn’t easy to use or comprehend, they won’t stay.”

“It’s a great company—it evolves constantly. You can almost create your own job sometimes. You become passionate about something, and they let you go with it.”
