Finding A Second Career
Mary began her journey as an unhappy paralegal for the state of Texas. Realizing she needed a new career, she inventoried her skills and interests—concluding that veterinary medicine was the path for her. So she began a journey towards her second bachelor’s degree, then veterinary school, and eventually a job she truly enjoyed.

Medical Director, Dallas-Fort Worth Central Market
Mary supports the doctors at her hospitals to help them develop their skills in medicine, leadership, and communication. Each week, she visits three to four of the 14 hospitals she oversees, meeting one-on-one with the doctors, assisting with surgeries, and attending meetings on how each hospital can better build its practice.

“I encourage people to obtain continuing education because it not only reinforces the knowledge in that doctor but also reinforces the knowledge in my market as well.”
