Andrew’s Story
Talent Seeking Talent
Andrew has had his mind on talent and recruitment ever since his college days, playing football at Linfield in the Oregon wine country. While football ended after college, recruitment didn’t, and Andrew spent many years working for various firms, honing his ability to detect talent, before being contacted himself and recruited through a firm—for Banfield.

A typical day for Andrew starts with emails, syncing up with the team, and formulating strategies on how to find the best doctors. When he isn’t sourcing, Andrew gains insights from doctors, learning the best ways to attract and retain them, and helping leadership determine which hires will provide Banfield and its clients with the most value.

“One project that I’m really proud of suggesting was our national referral competition. If you referred a doctor who was hired at Banfield, you’d be eligible for a $3000 referral bonus. We took what worked within my region and implemented it nationally, resulting in 95 additional doctor hires across the country to meet our recruitment goals.”

“We want to provide the best medicine, and we want to be the best place for doctors to work. We listen to our current associates, we listen to the industry, and we’ve listened to the needs of past associates as well. We have projects in the works to address those needs—to help us adapt and change with the world. Our team is always thinking about ways to make it better.”
