Before joining AAAS, Jessica majored in history as an undergrad. She then decided to go to law school and worked in the human rights field for many years. When looking for her next job, Jessica applied to 13 different companies, and was happy to accept a human rights job at AAAS—she's been with the organization for over nine years.

What Jessica Does
Interim Director, Scientific Responsibility, Human Rights, & Law Program
In her role, Jessica oversees a variety of topical projects. Throughout the day, she may be checking in on the financing of them, completing administrative tasks, or fielding various ad-hoc requests and suggestions for potential projects. Jessica also frequently meets with other departments—like Law, Finance, and Development—to help facilitate her team’s current projects.
