A Journalistic Perspective
Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Brian wanted to be a doctor when he was younger, but after struggling with science and math in high school, he decided to major in English in college. Brian then went on to receive a master’s in journalism at the University of British Columbia and worked as a press officer for 13 years before coming to AAAS.

Director, Editorial Content Strategy, EurekAlert!
Brian’s primary goal is to ensure that EurekAlert! consistently has the capacity and infrastructure to serve its mission of helping reporters better publicize scientific advances. Besides overseeing editorial operations, Brian also responds to requests of credentialing reporters and press officers, plans educational events and workshops with EurekAlert!’s partners, and frequently speaks on behalf of the organization at large events.
