Shaheen became a naturalized citizen as a teenager along with her dad—and was awestruck by a federal judge who welcomed all of the new citizens, telling them they were responsible for the country's future, regardless of their backgrounds. She pursued a path to help others, studying economics before completing law school and working as a federal clerk. Shaheen eventually blended her love of policy, listening, and advising with project management—and that's exactly what drew her to Altarum.
Shaheen provides client advisory services during her clients' core business hours. Sometimes, her work consists of prpearing briefs and executive summaries, replying to emails and supporting teleconferences, while other days, she's headed out to client sites for stakeholder meetings or project-specific consultations. The one constant aspect of her role? Building relationships with team members and clients, working hand-in-hand to deliver results.
“I’m encouraged to focus on my clients’ needs while taking initiatives and managing my own responsibilities and schedule. This work-life balance is a very fortunate perk.”
“I’m excited to be a part of a matrixed institute that encourages collaboration, stretches our staff's abilities, and appreciates a 'can-do' attitude. This institute pushes you to be your best—and that makes the future an exciting prospect.”
