We’ll go out on a limb here and assume you love food. And—another risky assumption—we’re guessing your ideal office would be an open, collaborative one, with cool people who love working together.
If we’re completely wrong, you can stop reading. Everyone else, good news! We’ve found your dream company: Cover.
Cover, which allows diners to easily pay for restaurant meals with an app, has a very foodie culture. “I think we all share this common interest. We all love to go out, eat, and have a great time together,” says Arielle Shipper, who handles Cover’s marketing, social media, and content strategy.
The employees hang out multiple times a week, but it’s not all play and no work. They multitask by sitting down for lunch or dinner at one of Cover’s amazing partner restaurants. Slow roasted pork shoulder with heirloom beans and salsa verde at Charlie Bird? Fontina mac and cheese with truffle oil at Chaya? All in a day’s work for this company.
Even Cover’s initiation ceremony involves good food: New hires are welcomed with a meal at a restaurant that can fit the whole office.
As you can imagine, the close-knit atmosphere helps Cover employees work together very well. “Cover is very much a startup,” says Cheryl Johnson, partner solutions associate. “Everyone is really smart, hard-working, driven—and yet we treat each other with a lot of respect.”
Besides delicious cuisine, the Cover team also shares a passion for hospitality. Everyone is super enthusiastic about their mission to give people an effortless way to pay the restaurant bill.
“I love that at our core, our philosophy is all about hospitality,” Johnson says. Staffer Frank Harris agrees, saying, “We’re not going to do something just because it’s cool. At the core, we’re really trying to make lives better for our diners as well as for our restaurants.”
Our last wild prediction is that working at Cover would make your life better as well.
