Our mission here at The Muse is simple: to help you find your dream job. So, there’s nothing we love more than hearing about it when you do!
Today, we chatted with Nicole Peltier, Project Manager for the merchandising team at FabFitFun about what her job actually entails.
Read on to learn more about her story, then check out FabFitFun’s offices and see how you can land a great new gig of your own.
Describe your job as if you were talking to a fifth grader.
As a project manager for the merchandising team, I create and manage our production calendars for all FabFitFun (“FFF”) Box and ECOMM initiatives, while also acting as the “glue” from merchandising to all other internal teams. I work cross functionally with our creative, operations and marketing teams to ensure they have all the information they need from a product standpoint.
What’s the first thing you do when you get up in the morning?
Make breakfast—having a little something to eat before heading into the office helps set my focus for the day ahead.
What’s the last thing you do before you leave work?
Write my to do list for the next day so I can come in organized and ready to go.
What’s one part of your job that someone might be surprised to know?
In addition to project managing for the merchandising team, I also run print production for FFF. I work super closely with the creative team on our box design, and source paper and materials for our magazines as well.
Why do you do what you do?
Project managing at FFF gives me the opportunity to be a part of bringing happiness to so many women all year long. With so much going on in our lives, we often forget how important self care is and don’t allow ourselves the time or budget to make it happen—FFF is an instant solve for both of those. Nothing beats hearing a member talk about how the box completely turned around their whole day, and I feel so lucky and excited to be a part of that.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone looking to work in your field, what would it be?
I know it seems simple, but hard work and persistence have always been the keys to get me where I am today! If you’re willing to put the work in, you’ll end up where you want to be.
