Gigwalk develops mobile applications that transform and improve the nature of work, helping other companies more efficiently manage distributed workforces and thus improve business outcomes and worker satisfaction.
“Here at Gigwalk we made the shift from running an independent contractor workforce to taking our software and turning it into something that can be deployed inside of internal field teams for our customers,” shares Matt Crampton, CTO and co-founder. “We’ve been working really hard on that and now that that’s out and live, we’re seeing it grow like crazy, and that’s super exciting for us.”
Team members at Gigwalk have a lot of faith in their management, which appears to be paying off. Shares Madeline Grubman, a sales development representative, “Across the board our leadership team has a lot of experience. They’re very strong-willed people and they’re here to make a difference. I can really get behind them and believe they’re leading us down a path of success.”
And part of leading them down this path to success is the encouragement to always keep learning and bettering one’s self. “People here are encouraged to go to conferences, meet-ups, things like that. It’s encouraged that we continue learning. They want us to work on outside projects and get better,” says Vladimir Kerkez, a senior software engineer. In addition, employees are given a lot of responsibilities, which aids in their professional growth.
But Gigwalk isn’t all about working hard and developing professionally. When employees need to unwind, you can find them playing pool and ping-pong, and grabbing drinks or dinner. And every Friday, when the clock strikes 4 PM, it’s officially Beer O’Clock. “As well as co-workers, we’ve also become friends, which I know sounds cliché, but it’s actually true,” says Grubman.
