Next Big Sound's Employees Have an Awesome Amount of Freedom
At Next Big Sound, you’ll always be excited by what you’re working on. How can we be so sure? The company, which provides musical artists with comprehensive data and intelligence to give them a competitive edge, has an amazing policy. Employees not only get to choose what they want to work on, but who they want to work with, when they want to work, and where they want to work from.
With all of that freedom, you can stick to projects that make your heart sing (pun intended).
“Next Big Sound fosters a lot of learning, creativity, and curiosity,” says Syd Cohen, director of client services. “It’s a huge part of our culture.”
Also part of the culture? An emphasis on unity and open dialogue.
Every month, Next Big Sound throws a “Next Big Drink” party, where everyone—from co-workers to family to friends to data providers to clients—gets together to talk, laugh, and be merry. At the same time, employees learn how each business is learning and growing and what progress their co-workers are making.
In addition, each week there’s “Bagel Friday,” where the team discusses current projects and upcoming challenges while chowing on some delicious, freshly baked bagels. If you’re more of a Mexican food guy or gal, you’ll be happy to hear about “Taco Tuesday.” And Next Big Sound is so into inclusivity that even remote workers get to join in—they get doorstop deliveries of what the on-site employees are eating.
“Everyone has a voice in this organization,” says Mike Petrovich, software engineer. “It’s very democratic. It’s not just some divine leader coming down and saying we all have to work on this.”
So if you want to be passing the chips and dip at the next Taco Tuesday (who wouldn’t?), take a look at Next Big Sound’s offices, then find your next job there today.
