Almost two years ago, The Daily Muse launched to the world, and today, we want to invite you to join us on a bigger journey. Watch a quick video from our Founder & CEO Kathryn Minshew, then read more about our latest changes below.
Less than two years ago, we held our breath as The Daily Muse launched to the world . We began to build a community for brilliant, fearless women passionate about their careers, and we had high hopes and little idea of what lay in store.
Today, that community has grown in ways we couldn’t imagine, sparking a passionate response and rapid growth that took us from hundreds to thousands to millions of users in the blink of an eye.
As we grew, we began to notice something we didn’t expect: People we didn’t intend to find us, who we didn’t think would need or use our resources, came in droves. They were seeking the same thing we were: An answer to the question, “What do you want to do with your life?”
We reached out to professional women and recent grads, and they poured in. But they were increasingly joined by 50-somethings contemplating a career change , parents returning to the workforce after time off, professional men who were themselves looking for support navigating their careers, and even vets reintegrating to civilian life. In short, the people who identified with our mission included a far wider mix of age, gender, and backgrounds than we’d ever imagined.
So now, we want to invite you to join us on a bigger journey.
At our core, we haven’t changed in what we stand for. We believe:
For those of you who’ve known us since our early days, the reason you come every day is not going anywhere. We still want to empower women to kick ass at their jobs. And we want to empower men, too. We don’t want to—and we won’t—ignore the issues that women still face in the workplace , but we want this to be a broader conversation, and as we continue it, we want to bring everyone to the table. We see tremendous value in becoming a community that is more inclusive and expanding our opportunities to deliver on our promises.
Maybe you’ve noticed some of the small changes we’ve already started making—more views from a diverse crowd, trading some of our lifestyle content for a stronger focus on exploring career paths. Much of this has been in response to the incredible feedback we’ve gotten from you, our readers. Moving forward, we’ll continue to provide daily advice and inspiration through The Daily Muse , our career advice publication, and also keep expanding our newer offerings: the company profiles , career pathing pages , and open job listings we bring you on The Muse. After all, the career path of the future is no longer one-size-fits-all, and your career destination shouldn't be either.
We’re so proud of what we’ve built together, Muses, and we know we have a lot ahead of us. We couldn’t be more excited by the journey—and we hope you’re excited to join us.
No matter where you are in your career:
or somewhere in between, we’re here for you.
We look forward to taking the future by storm—together.
