“I’m really excited about the future of ReadyTalk because I feel like we’re in this great transitional phase where we’re challenging what we’ve done in the past to say, ‘Can we do more?’” shares Tim Myers, a product manager. “And if we apply that to new and challenging problems, I think we can really do something great. So, understanding that, even though we’ve had a lot of success, we’re not just going to sit back and say, ‘Well, that was good enough.’ We’re actually going to move forward and take on some really great challenges.”
Part of being able to make progress and find continuous success is by hiring people who always want to improve and who are hyper-creative, and by placing value on each and every employee. “We are a very bottom up driven organization. Now I say that not meaning that we don’t have titles or have any kind of hierarchy—I say that because we truly care about what every individual thinks here,” says Courtney Graham, Senior Director of HR. “What it’s really about is the way we make decisions around here—creating cross-functional teams and what we call ‘beach ball conversations’ to really get everyone’s perspective to make sure that we’re making the right decision, not only for our business and for our strategy, but for our people.”
Culture is extremely important to the leadership at ReadyTalk. In fact, it’s so key that part of each candidate’s interview includes a cultural segment. “It’s a big portion and part of the organization—to find out if we’re a fit for you and if you’re a fit for us,” shares Patrick Wiley, Director of Channel Sales. “The same person that you’ll meet at ReadyTalk is the same person you’ll meet if you’re at my house on a Saturday for a barbecue with my family. I’m the same person. I don’t have to put on a different hat or be a different person when I come to work as I do with my family and friends on my personal time.”
And when team members aren’t helping others connect seamlessly, they’re getting to know each other during team bonding events, such as brewery tours and skiing outings, or during Friday morning “All-Minds Meetings” in the Nerd Lounge (with bagels and coffee, of course).
