Since its founding 14 years ago, Hotwire has been helping companies stand out from the crowd. And along the way, Hotwire’s amazing work has helped it stand out as well. Last year, the firm was named the best tech PR agency —in the world.
Two company characteristics that make Hotwire so successful (and such a cool place to work)?
First, collaboration: The company believes in harnessing the power of teamwork to get things done.
“Working at Hotwire is all about the people,” explains program manager Ayla Richards. “It is a collaborative and exciting environment filled with bright individuals who have an equally passionate approach to PR. From the youngest to the most experienced member of the team, everyone is dedicated to delivering differentiated and effective communications programs for our clients.”
When they’re not working together inside the office, Hotwire’s team is collaborating outside of it.
For example, the San Francisco office recently played “Escape the Room,” a game that required them to solve riddles and outrun zombies. Since the co-workers are used to having each others’ backs, their escape was ultimately successful (albeit sweaty).
“At Hotwire, we’re a family, so we work through issues together,” says associate director Christa Conte. “No matter if it’s an up or a down day, we’re there for each other.”
The second thing Hotwire really values? Entrepreneurship. Yes, it’s one of the fastest growing PR and communications agencies on the planet, but that doesn’t mean it’s lost the innovative attitude that typically defines small companies.
Program manager Marquise McCoy explains, “Sometimes the best meetings are when we just sit in a room and brainstorm the most far-fetched, outlandish ideas—and clients love it because it positions them in a new and creative way.”
Recently, the Hotwire PR team hosted an “art gallery” to display a client’s new gadgets, sparking interest among tech media reps in a fresh and effective way.
Will Gluckin, a program executive, sums it up: “If there’s one word that describes the culture here, it’s entrepreneurial.”
