Site Reliability Engineer, Privacy Sandbox

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 3 years of experience with data structures/algorithms and software development in one or more programming languages.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with public cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP) and associated technologies (e.g., Docker, Terraform).
  
• Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  
• Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
  
• Excellent problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills.
  

About the job

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that Google's services-both our internally critical and our externally-visible systems-have reliability, uptime appropriate to users' needs and a fast rate of improvement. Additionally SRE's will keep an ever-watchful eye on our systems capacity and performance. Much of our software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and eliminating work through automation.

On the SRE team, you'll have the opportunity to manage the complex challenges of scale which are unique to Google, while using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis and large-scale system design.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of Software and Systems Engineers, including iteration and task planning.
• Manage availability and performance of mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  
• Triage product or system issues and debug, track, or resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  
  
• Participate in an on-call rotation, including occasional weekend or after hours coverage.
