Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
This is a remote position. To help our teams work together effectively, this role requires you to be located in Poland.
Atlassian is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer who is passionate about building scalable cloud services. You will be joining a high-impact team tasked with building services that manage virtual compute environments for other Atlassian employees and scale our support platform infrastructure.

Your future team
We are looking for experienced DevOps engineers to join our Data Center team and help us build the software that runs the worlds largest and most complex organisations.
Our Instant Environments team is comprised of people with backgrounds in Python, Ansible, Kubernetes and AWS. We provide a set of services that automate the creation and management of cloud compute environments for Atlassians. We do this to radically improve the performance of all our Data Center engineering teams, including Support and Migrations organisations.
What you'll do
- Build solutions to enhance the availability, performance and stability of the "Instant Environments" cloud computing service, as well as automating away repetitive work
- Develop new ideas to improve the efficiency of a Data Center engineer
- You'll work on non-production and production environments, monitoring, data collection and configuration management, as well as disaster recovery planning, capacity engineering, reliability improvement projects and platform automation
- Have a collaborative spirit - in our world, it's not about being a hero and having all the answers. It's about sometimes saying "I don't know" and working on finding solutions rather than starting with an assumption. The team needs someone who can ask questions, learn from others and turn words into action.
Your background
- Design, delivery and operation of large-scale, AWS cloud-native infrastructure solutions (5+ years).
- Automation and Infrastructure-as-code projects and tooling (Ansible, Terraform, 3+ years).
- Experience with Kubernetes and Helm (2+ years)
- Experience with Python web applications (2+ years) and practical knowledge of Python
- Solid expertise in Git
- Incident response and management in on-call rotation. Hands-on experience resolving production problems.
- Design CI/CD pipelines (for example, Bamboo, Jenkins)
- Excellent scripting skills (Python, Bash)
- Basic Linux administration
- Observability tools and methodology (for example, logging, metrics, tracing) for highly available web services.
- Nice addition - Experience in React
- Experience with relational databases
- Fluent English (both spoken and written)
