We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager for our San Diego, CA locations that will oversee Quality Assurance (QA) Operations for our West Coast Systems Integration group. The selected candidate will conduct Quality Assurance Audits, Safety Audits, and will routinely survey company facilities and jobs sites. Candidate will be required to travel (estimated 30%) to different military bases, shipyards and company sites to meet contract obligations

What You Will Do

  • Conduct QA/Safety audits / Surveillances at company facilities and jobs sites.
  • Oversee QA Operations for West Coast SI operation.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality policies and procedures are followed in assigned location.
  • Utilizes working knowledge of installation, Quality Assurance (QA) and safety standards and procedures related to shipboard and facility installations to execute tasks.
  • Monitors work operations on a daily basis and actively assists or provides direction as required to managers.
  • Develops, implements and manage training for the SI operations.
  • Provides training and inspections as required.
  • Executes department procedures.
  • Responsible for leading daily operations of a quality work unit.
  • Will communicate with customers and company personal to resolve quality assurance issues.
  • Will utilize Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) STANDARD ITEMS, TS9090-310 Navy Modernization Program Management and Operations Manual, and Quality Assurance Workbooks to execute tasking.

What You Must Have

  • Must have at least 6 years' relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years' relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years' relevant progressive experience.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 30% of the time.
  • Candidate must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Requires progressive experience working with Military systems, Training, Installing or Inspecting the installation of systems/equipment onboard Naval Vessels. Demonstrate a good working knowledge of installation standards related to shipboard installations.
  • Be able to read and interoperate Military Installation Drawings and LARs.
  • Be familiar with NAVSEA STANDARD ITEMS, TS9090-310 Navy Modernization Program Management and Operations Manual, including familiarization with Quality Assurance.
  • Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) and safety standards related to installations aboard naval vessels.
  • Requires supervisory experience, leading, directing and managing others.
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills. Has the ability to communicate with external customers and internal employees to effectively resolve Quality Assurance Issues.
  • Be proficient with use of computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Be familiar with reading understanding information in Microsoft Project. Be able to read PDF files and work with signature and other features using software programs similar to ADOBE PRO and NUANCE. Be familiar with use of general office equipment such as network printers and digital PDF senders.
  • Ability to work onsite at any of our company facilities in San Diego, CA.


Bonus Points For

  • Prefer Quality Assurance (QA) practical experience.
  • Prefer minimum NDT Level 2 certification.
  • Prefer experience working in Naval Shipyards and military facilities.


Physical Requirements

Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
